THE COMPANY

Although BIDCO is a Public Limited Liability Company, it does not intend to seek quotation and be listed in the daily official list of the Nigerian Stock Exchange for now. It has a legal status of a holding/parent company and would float some subsidiaries that would promote and manage Development Trust Fund, Co?operative Society, Major and Cottage industries that would lead to economic transformation of our land. The company is a private sector initiative and its operations will be driven by some of the best brains available. The proposed operation of the company will include:
    • Investment in Agriculture and Mechanised Farming in the seven Local Government Areas that make up the Benin Kingdom.
    • Investment in Oil and Gas which are some of the mineral resources available in our land.
    • Investment in Chemicals (Manufacturing of Chlorine, Caustic Soda, Chlor ? Alkali and other Allied Chemicals) and Bitumen also available in our land.
    • Investment in relevant Cottage Industries.
    • Investment in the Stock Market and Shares of Blue Chip companies.
    • Investment in Trade ? Consumer Goods, Commodities and Capital Goods.
    • Investment in Real Estate.

A short profile of each of the Directors is as stated hereunder:

CHIEF SAM O. U. IGBE MON
This highly respected and distinguished Chief of Benin Kingdom had his early education at St. Peter?s CMS School and the Edo College both in Benin City. He later attended St. Andrew?s College, Oyo which later employed him as a teacher.

In 1956, he entered the service of the Nigerian Police Force and after a distinguished career he retired meritoriously and voluntarily as a Commissioner of Police in 1978.

He served the then Bendel State Civil Service in various Senior Management/Administrative capacities including his appointment as a Commissioner in the State Civil Service.

This patriotic Nigerian is currently the Iyase of the Benin Kingdom and was honoured with the National Award of the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) in 2004.

BIDCO is fortunate to have a man of his high level of integrity and commitment to direct the affairs of the Board of Directors as the Chairman.

APOSTLE HAYFORD I. ALILE OFR
Since retirement as the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Apostle Hayford I. Alile still serves on the Governing Council of the Exchange as well as on the Board of the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company Plc. He was a Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria (1999 ? 2005). He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oceanic Bank Plc and a Director of IGI.

Apostle Hayford Alile, was a former President of the Harvard Business School Association of Nigeria, he is a fellow of each of the Institute of Directors, the Nigerian Institute of Management as well as the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

He is a leading investment analyst who has, in the last three decades, made valuable contributions to national economic growth and policy formulation. He was for 12 years a Trustee and Treasurer of the Nigeria Olympic Committee. He is the Spiritual Leader of St. Joseph Chosen Church of God.

DR. JACKSON EBIUWAIRO GAIUS-OBASEKI CON
Dr. Jackson Ebiuwairo Gaius-obaseki CON, a man of vision, courage and steadfastness of purpose and relentless drive for excellence, a man with an enviable pedigree was born to the great Obaseki and Royal Family on the 25th November 1945 in Benin City. Dr. Jackson Ebuiwairo Gaius-Obaseki attended University of Ibadan, where he obtained a B.Sc (Hons) degree in 1971. The quest for more knowledge made him proceed to France for his Post Graduate work in Geology and Geophysics, while in the services of the Nigerian National Oil Corporation (NNOC), the precursor of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as a pioneer staff in July, 1972. He rose through the ranks, held several Senior Managerial positions and retired meritoriously as the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the NNPC in November 2003 after a distinguished career.

Dr. Gaius-Obaseki who has been honoured in and out of office acted as a special envoy of the President of the Federation Republic of Nigeria to the Presidents of the Republic of Cote D?Voire and the Republic of Cameroon.

Among the endless list of Honours and Awards earned by him are:
    • Nigerian National Merit Award of the ?Commander of the Order of the Niger? (2002)
    • Doctorate Degree in Technology (D. Tech) ? Honorary causal from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria (2002)
    • Doctor of Science ? Honorary Causal from the Igbinedion University Benin City, Nigeria.
    • Financial Times of London ? as ? the Nigerian Oil Industry?s Clean and Outstanding Reformer?
    • "Award of Excellence and Investment Promotions" by the West African International News Magazine in association with West African Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
    • Nigerian National Association of Energy Correspondents ?Energy Man of Year 2000 Award?

PROF. EGHOSA OSAGIE
A professional economist, Professor Eghosa Osagie obtained his Bachelor?s degree from Pomona College, Claremont, California in 1965; the Masters degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1966 and the doctorate in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1971.
His professional career straddles research, lectureship, policy analysis and administration of Tertiary Institutions. He joined the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic research in 1966, then moved on to the Department of Economics, University of Ibadan in 1973. He was appointed Professor of Economics, University of Jos in 1980; Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences in 1982. In 1987, he was appointed Director of Research, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru from where he retired from public service in January 2000.

In February 2002, he was appointed Vice-Chancellor, Benson Idahosa University, Benin City; the position he occupied for five (5) full academic sessions which culminated on August 30, 2006. He is currently on terminal leave which he is spending doing research and publishing.

CHIEF LUGARD E. AIMIUWU OON
Chief Aimiuwu, the Osayuwanoba of the Benin Kingdom, graduated in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and was the best graduating student of the university that year.

His post-graduation management training included, among others, Executive Programmes at Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth, New Hampshire, USA and Ashridge Management College, UK.

His distinguished career span through Shell and Unilever where he held Senior Management positions some of which included Supplies Controller, Planning Co-ordinator, Marketing Director, Sales Director, Project Director and Personnel Director. Also, he is in the Board of many companies as Director and Chairman.

Chief Aimiuwu is a Fellow of many professional bodies some of which are Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, Fellow National Institute of Marketing, the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs and a Fellow and past President of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

Chief Aimiuwu has had many Awards to his credit among which is Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) awarded him by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Chief Aimiuwu was infact the Chairman of the Committee that developed the Blue Print of the Benin Economic Development Strategy upon which the incorporation of BIDCO was later predicated.

BARRISTER B. A. OGBEBOR
B. A. Ogbebor, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (London) (FCIS) and Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (ACS), began his career in the Insurance Industry which he left in 1978 after 10 years and proceeded to England for further studies. He obtained an MBA with specialization in Financial Management and Operational Research, from the University of Aston in Birmingham, England in 1980.

He joined Nigerian Breweries Plc in October, 1981 as Company Secretary. He obtained the LLB Degree from the University of Lagos in 1989 and was called to the Bar (BL) by the Council of Legal Education in Nigeria in 1990. He became the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of Nigerian Breweries Plc in 1994 and recently proceeded on voluntary retirement after 24 years of meritorious service. During his tenure in Nigerian Breweries Plc, he led the team that won the Nigerian Stock Exchange President?s Annual Merit Award for good Corporate Governance 15 (fifteen) times.

This apostle of Good Corporate Governance and due process is currently leading the Management team of Foresight Securities & Investment Ltd, a Stockbroking Company, and a member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange in the capacity of Deputy Chairman/Managing Director with a drive for professionalism and integrity.

DR. S.E.O. OGBONMWAN

The highly distinguished medical career of Dr. Stephen E.O. Ogbonmwan started after his graduation in medicine from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. He worked briefly at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Benin City, then the compulsory National Service at the St John’s Hospital in Ilawe Ekiti. Thereafter he worked for the Bendel State Health Service Management Board, before he entered the Residency Training of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, where he completed the fellowship examinations in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1992 that elevated him to the status of Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

He subsequently worked as Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist to Delta Steel Hospital Complex Oviawn Aladja and thereafter proceeded to the United Kingdom for further exposure. After passing the prescribed examinations, he became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Thereafter he obtained further academic qualification from the University of Nottingham, in Assisted Reproduction Technology and similarly gained admission into the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical pathology as a certified Colposcopist. He has since been elevated the position of a Fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of the United Kingdom.

He is a member of many distinguished medical professional organizations among which are Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of the UK, Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine of the UK and Member Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Nigeria and Member of the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical pathology. Member of the British Fertility Society and Member of the British Feto-Maternal Medicine Society.

Currently Mr. Ogbonmwan works as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Consultant to the National Health Services of the United Kingdom and he is listed in Marquis ‘WHO is WHO in the World 2009’ for contribution to the science of medicine in the world, and advocacy and fight for good governance in his home country of Nigeria.

Dr. Ogbonmwan, who is a Knight of Saint Columba has authored many academic articles in peer reviewed journals and has written on thorny contemporary and cultural issues of the Ancient Benin Kingdom in the electronic and news media.

He is married with children.

Sir. OSAGIE VICTOR OBASUYI
Sir. Osagie Victor Obasuyi is an Industrialist and a Technology Consultant. His cognate experience and competencies garnered over twenty-five years encompass core engineering practices, nuclear power, high-tech food processing industry, innovative telecommunication devices and methodologies.

Highly skilled, broadly experienced and achievement oriented Osagie Victor Obasuyi received both a BSc. degree in Mechanical Systems Engineering and a Masters in Systems Controls Engineering in 1981 and 1985 respectively from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio USA. In his industrial engineering experiences spanning over twenty-five years, he had held various managerial top positions at different times in many organizations in which he served and still serving.
As a Design Engineer in Gilbert/Commonwealth Inc. USA a nuclear power plant company in 1981. As Design and Instrumentation Engineer with Cargill Inc. USA (Food processing plant) in 1985 As Engineer Consultant with AMG Engineering Consulting Firm in Dayton , Ohio In 1986 taught in the Engineering and Computer Science Department at Central State University in Wilberforce Ohio was subsequently appointed Professor in Applied Sciences from 1986 through 1989
In 1989, he was initially engaged as a Consultant to set up "Udofe Metal Processing Industry" and "Okebo Vegetable Oil Refining" at Okpe in Edo state, Nigeria but ultimately became the General Manager for two and a half years until 1992.
He came back to the USA 1992 to join the services of "Continental Cable Vision Company" (now called Time Warner) as Senior Systems Design Engineer. His job involved the conversion of Cable System to fiber optics in preparation for high speed Internet Communication. In 1994 was appointed Africa Coordinator for "Telegroup" now Primus Telecommunication and formed partnership with Termitex International (Tele-Minute Termination and Internet Telephony) to set up ?Zenov Inc.? (IT & Telecom. Consulting Firm & provider of Systems Integrated Solutions) where he is still the President. He was in 2005 appointed the Chief Technology officer of Americon LLC. (An Infrastructure services provider: Petroleum, Broadband, Telecom, Water Sewer, Natural Gas and Power Industries) till date.

Sir. Osagie Victor Obasuyi sits on the Boards of Dictators of "Community Hope Inc." (A USA based Non-Profit Organization) and "Deepocean Nigeria Limited".
He is a widely traveled guy; an active Rotarian (in Dayton Ohio ), one of the Clubs in Rotary International Organization. He is a humanitarian and a professional, a Fourth Degree Member of the Noble Order of the Knights of St. Peter Claver in the Catholic Church, where he was conferred with the distinguished title of Sir Knight for meritorious/humanitarian services. A family man and he is happily married with children.

Engineer Osagie Victor Obasuyi is a corporate member of the following Engineering bodies:
  • Instrumentation Society of America (ISA)
  • Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME)
  • American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
